MY MAXI DRESS OBSESSION February 16, 2015 – Posted in: General, Improve your wardrobe – Tags: Awesome, brand, cool, fashion
I work from home half of the time. During these days in my home office, my preferred style is maxi dresses, and this dress is one I might wear, although strictly speaking it was meant for more spectacular moments. It not only doubles up as a stylish and comfy outfit for home, but would also be great for a Sunday lunch with friends or a family picnic, on those days, I will throw on a pair of earrings and my comfiest sandals if I need to step out for an errand, drive to pick up my daughter from school etc. Being in the fashion profession, fashion comes first in everything I do, but comfort is also a top priority.
Whenever I tell people that I work from home, I mostly get something like “how cool, you can wear whenever you want and even work from bed all day!” And let’s be honest, one of the perks of working from home is that you can pretty much wear what you like. But just because you can wear pyjamas or dheras whenever you like, it doesn’t mean that you should. In my case, ‘lazy dressing’ was slowly crippling my creativity and subconsciously I was not being able to separate work from play. The sad part is when this perception becomes reality. Granted, since my office is next to the lounge, it’s easy to just slide into relaxation mode and waste valuable time.
Honestly, making a little effort to wear a comfortable but stylish outfit will get your pumped up for the day and help getting your creative juices flowing. It also gives you a sense of authority when you make that phone call, draft important emails and attempt to get your mind set straight for work. So if you are struggling with being productive while working from home, I suggest that you adopt a dedicated businesslike routine and stick to it. Do wear pieces which will elevate your confidence and watch your productivity peak in ways you would never have believed. It’s the little things…
